MORE ABOUT HEBB..
*Powerful & Quiet*
Hebb uses a beautifully machined 350 watt brushless motor.
Hebb's motor is 40-50% larger and more powerful than the popular 180-250 watt motors found on European bikes and some popular US bikes.
Hebb's bigger motor works less to do the same work.
Many other manufacturers use brushed motors which reduce the range by about 25%, and can require periodic brush replacement.
*Range*
Depends on a number of factors – the weight of the rider, terrain, and how much you pedal.
The average rider uses about 15 watt-hours per mile in riding an electric bike.
Hebb's battery is rated at 37 volts, 10 amps, and thus has 370 watt hours (37 X 10).
Therefore, on an average ride, you can get 25 real miles on a Hebb Electro Glide 500!
Budget bikes have 26 volt, 9 amp battery packs, which have 234 watt hours, or maximum a range of about 16 miles -- about 36% less.
*Speed*
Depends on a number of factors – the weight of the rider, terrain, and how much you pedal.
Hebb's efficient 37V system can easily go 20 mph, with very little assistance.
Bikes using the smaller batteries usually claim they will go 15 mph.
Keep in mind that Hebb's motor controller cuts off power to the motor at around the E-bike legal limit of 20-21 mph In order to get to a higher speed it takes pedal power.
*Front Shocks*
A quality front fork transforms the ride into a glide.
Budget bikes rarely have this feature.
Hebb's bikes have adjustable high quality front shocks with 45mm travel.
|
*Speedometer/Odometer*
A Cateye display is standard on Hebb's bikes.
*Shifters*
The _easy to use_ advanced Shimano Nexus internal hub shifter replaces the derailleur found on most multi-speed bikes.
It is quieter, maintenance free, and there is no greasy chain to deal with.
You can shift gears without pedaling.
*Safety Features*
Hebb's bikes have disc brakes on the front and Shimano Nexave roller internal hub brakes on the rear.
They also feature reflective white sidewalls on the tires for visibility.
They are also equipped with high quality front and rear LED lights powered by the main battery.
Hebb bikes are equipped with a throttle for true power-on-demand instead of having to pedal to activate the power.
The throttle gives you total control, if you need to accelerate away from traffic -- it’s right at your fingertips.
*Sturdy*
Hebb's sturdy bikes are built to last.
The location of the battery makes the center of gravity lower than those that have the battery on the rear carrier.
Placing a heavy battery over the rear wheel can destroy a bicycle’s handling characteristics.
At 59 lbs., Hebb's bikes are a perfect blend of durability and performance.
Manufacturer's warranty
* Two years on the frame, fork, all mechanical and electrical parts, except normal wear and tear items.
* One year on the battery.
* The warranty applies to the original owner only, and does not apply to bicycles used for rental.
